PocketPacket: Full-Featured APRS Client
PocketPacket is a full-featured APRS client that includes a built-in TNC, catering to amateur radio operators worldwide. This software utilizes the "Automatic Position Reporting System" protocol, enabling users to report positions, station capabilities, weather, and more in real-time. Users can broadcast announcements, engage in one-to-one messaging, and visualize or transmit 1200 baud packets via a VHF radio transceiver using software-based TNC.
Additionally, PocketPacket allows users to send and receive packets over the Internet by choosing from various Tier 2 servers within the global APRS-IS network. The software presents incoming data on a map, displaying objects with symbols and locations, enabling users to access the latest information and raw packets. It also offers features like message viewing, bulletin access, real-time weather reports, and network status monitoring.
